 Objectives

The main and secondary objectives of the Lochvaal Emfuleni Welfare

 

The LEW’s main objectives are to:

 

a.    To fulfill, within the capabilities of the LEW, the social welfare and development needs of community.

 

b.    To provide and promote social-welfare, development and related services in community in collaboration

       with interested parties and individuals.

 

c.    The Lochvaal Emfuleni Welfare’s main goal are to render welfare, welfare related and other

       services in respect of family care, community development, child care, education and care of the

       aged, homeless destitute, less fortunate in the community.

 

d.   To empower people by improving the standards and development of the less fortunate by providing food,

       clothing, and financial assistance to the less fortunate as described in the LEW’s area of operation.

 

The LEW’s secondary objectives will be to:

 

a.    Any other group or organisation that functions outside the usual LEW structures and is involved in welfare

       and / or development services may join forces with the LEW and adhere voluntary to the constitution of the

       LEW

What do we do for our residents?

 

We provide accommodation, 3 meals (360 plates of food) per day, clothing, transport to and from schools and clinics and bus fees. Babies are supplied with baby milk and nappies. We also provide beneficiaries with family care, community development, HIV/ Aids, TB and trauma counseling, youth and child care, care of the aged, up enlistment of moral values and standards, life skills, parenting skills, support and training. We deliver integrated care services to needy, neglected, traumatized and abused children defined in need of care. We presently have 25 family rooms, 4 single quarters (with a total of 42 beds), a major dining room, main kitchen and small kitchen and a newly build baby room.
